Atherosclerosis is the condition when the arteries of your heart become narrow because of the development of a plaque. It is also known as the hardening of the arteries. Arteries, the blood vessels perform the task of carrying oxygen as well as nutrients from the heart to the rest of the body. This is a common heart disease in the older adults because the arteries can get blocked or jammed because of collecting excessive fat and cholesterol throughout the year. If you have a family history of Atherosclerosis, then you should remain careful. Lack of exercise and eating foods that consist too much fat can enhance the risks as well.
