Coronary Artery Disease in Women
The artery is the part of your heart that pumps blood from the heart to the rest of the body. In the beginning, the arteries remain smooth and elastic, but later as the time flows they get plaques on their inside walls and that make them narrow. Then it becomes difficult for them to pump out the blood as efficiently as they should and different types of heart issues can be created due to this.
This is a very common heart disease in women. This restricts the normal blood flow to your heart and the other parts of your body
Signs and Symptoms
The most common symptom of this disease is angina and chest pain. Angina is a kind of condition in which you can feel heaviness in the chest, pressure, burning, aching, pain, fullness and squeezing inside your heart. Apart from that, there can be regular chest pain. It should not be mistaken with the discomfort due to indigestion when you have the pain in your neck, shoulders, arms, back, and jaw as well.
Causes and Risk Factors
A plaque inside the arteries can be formed from a young age. As you get older the plaque becomes thicker, and that makes the arteries narrower than before, and then the actual problem starts. That increases the danger of heart attack and blood clots inside the heart
Changes in the lifestyle would be the first suggestion of your doctor. Apart from that, there are medicines and surgery for this.
