Bleeding from the gum is one of the most common oral health issues. Both men and women can suffer from this issue. Most of the times people do not bother when their gum bleeds while brushing until the problem seem serious and bigger than what they think. However, apart from the common gum or oral issue, bleeding from the gum can be the symptom of other health problems too.
Sign and Symptoms
Whenever you eat something or brush your teeth, your gum starts bleeding. In some cases, people can even have to bleed from the gum without any provocation. That means their gum can bleed when they are not even eating foods. Bleeding can be slight or moderate, and it can be stopped automatically. If the symptoms are serious, then you must consult your dentist.
Causes and Risk
The main cause of this problem is the development of plaque at the gum line. If there is the plaque, then there will be gingivitis which is inflamed gums. When your plaques are not removed properly, then they become harder. This will increase the bleeding in that particular area, and the blood comes out of the gum. Gingivitis is the primary stage of gum disease which can later become periodontitis. Apart from that, deficiency of vitamin K can also cause this.
Treatment and Management
This is a gum issue, and you must visit your dentist first. There are home remedies, but taking the help of the experts to treat the issue is the best thing you can do.
