A skull base surgery is performed for the removal of abnormal growths or tumors, benign and/or cancerous, occurring in the skull base which is the floor in the cranial cavity separating the brain from the eye sockets, nasal cavity, ear canals and the neck. Skull base surgeries are complex and challenging and are carried out by ENT surgeons or neurosurgeons. These surgeries include endoscopic procedures which involves the insertion of the instruments through natural openings like nose or mouth or through a miniature hole along the eyebrows.
