When a person has cancer it indicates the person has a weak immune system which is due to nutritional deficiencies (Katone 2008; Powell 2000; Thurnham 2004 cited below). Therefore deficiencies in certain nutrients can impair the functioning of the immune system and adversely affect the production of antibodies as well. These deficiencies could be due to genetics, environmental, food & lifestyle factors. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies we need to strengthen the immune system.

Role of Diet to Improve Immunity

  • In today’s world convenience, packed and processed foods dominate. Food manufacturers add enormous amount of salt, preservatives, sugar also mainly in the form of high fructose corn syrup which we use almost every day in some form or the other in coffee drinks, sodas, snacks, peanuts butter, yogurt to name a few. Scientists say that sugar directly influences cancer cells. Cancer loves sugar and starches as it thrives on glucose. So therefore by removing sugar one is starving the cancer cells.
  • Also to maintain blood alkaline one needs to eat every 3 ½ – 4 hour as the body needs this much time to completely digest the food. Besides that eating too fast, not chewing food properly also make body more acidic.
  • Include vegetable juices as it help in providing live enzymes to build healthy cells. Eating raw vegetables is also beneficial.
  • Don’t forget to drink at least two liters of water a day. To make the water alkaline simply add lime or cucumber to the water.
  • Cut down on meat, as it is acidic & it’s best to eat fish or lean chicken. Avoid beef or pork. Meat protein is difficult to digest which increases toxins. Cancer cells have a tough protein wall, by eating less meat it helps enzymes to attack the cancer cells and allow body’s killer cells to destroy cancer cells.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, chocolate or other foods which have caffeine. Switch over to green or herbal or chamomile tea which has cancer – fighting properties.
  • Never eat fruits after meals. Fruits should be eaten before meals.
