Overweight people and obese people are more prone to have heart disease, strokes, diabetes, cancer, and depression. There is a strong correlation between excess weight and depression because it is common disorder creates a negative impact on our daily life.
The risk of diabetes increases 20 times when obesity occurs and substantially increase the risk of developing high blood pressure, strokes, and gallstones. The higher the BMI the more is the risk of diseases in our body.

According to American heart association excess weight increases systolic BP &diastolic BP which can also lead to strokes.
Overweight & obesity are also closely related to diabetes and 90 percent of people with diabetes are overweight. The high blood sugar level makes people prone to metabolic syndrome and untreated diabetes can also lead to kidney failure, blindness & foot, and leg amputation. Diabetes is one of the major causes of death in the US.
Knees and hips can also affect because of obesity so the stress placed on the joints by very extra weight. To recover damaged joints, joint replacement surgery may not be advisable because for obese person the artificial joint has higher risk of damage
