  1. Breastfeed: Yes, breastfeeding is a great way to reduce your tummy as it triggers the contraction in uterus to attain its normal size by shrinking it. If you breastfeed, you will burn extra calories (around 500 calories) to produce milk. However, if you eat more than you burn, you will put on more weight even after breastfeeding.
  2. Proper and healthy diet: Diet plays a very important role in reducing the size of tummy. Proper diet helps to get vitamins and minerals that are needed by our body. Consume fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein, low-fat dairy products and whole grains. Limit your salt intake. Never skip your meals.
  3. Yoga: Yoga is the best exercise to reduce tummy after pregnancy. Yoga routine is a complete package of exercises and breathing techniques for your mind and soul. You can either start practising yoga at home or join some class which will keep you glued to it.
  4. Aerobic exercises: Start with light activity exercises like walking or swimming. Gradually increase the intensity of workout. You can also include aerobic exercises like yoga, dancing (zumba), climbing stairs etc. Duration- 30-60 minutes/day.
  5. Avoid stress: Avoid taking stress as stress causes the release of stress hormones into your bloodstream which further leads to tiredness, irritability and weight gain or water retention. High levels of cortisol can increase your craving for sweet and unhealthy food. Try to take sound sleep, it will help your body to wash out stress hormone and can make you feel better emotionally.
