Dr (Prof ) VS Mehta, Padma Shri, Chairman Neurosciences was awarded the prestigious ‘ Legend in Neurosciences’ Award by Times of India at a ceremony organized on Aug 20, 2017, at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. The event was attended by notable doctors of national and international repute who competed with each other for various categories. The prestigious award was adjudged by notable jury members – Dr. Mahendra Bhandari, Padma Shri (Reputed UroSurgeon), Dr. Girdhar Gyani (Director General at Association of Healthcare Providers), Dr. Lily D Engineer (Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine).
Dr (Prof) VS Mehta, before joining Paras Healthcare was the HOD of Neurosurgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi), where he initiated a number of clinical programs for Brain Tumor Surgery, Brachial Plexus Surgery and Surgery of Deep Seated Brain Tumours.
At Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon, Dr. Mehta has pioneered the development and the establishment of the Best Neurosciences Institute in Delhi NCR. Under his guidance, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon is the first hospital in the region to be equipped with Image Guided Brain Tumour Navigation Technology for brain tumors and low-grade gliomas, intraoperative monitoring system for neurosurgery, Transcranial Doppler, to list a few. Dr. V S Mehta has over the years treated numerous Indian patients from all parts of the country.
