7 best food for healthy eyes

Your eyes are the only doors through which you perceive and see the world. Make it your health priority by following a diet having nutrients which are good for eyes:

  • FISH & SEA FOOD

FISH such as salmon, tuna, sardines, trout and mackerel have high content of omega 3 fatty acid. They help retina to develop and omega 3 helps to prevent muscular degeneration and dry eyes. The fish oil supplement which comes in the form of capsule and liquid form.

  • CARROTS

Carrots are also very good for the eyes.  Carrots contain vitamin A and Beta Carotene which aids in proper functioning of retina and reduces the risk of eye disorders. All colored pigmented vegetables contribute very well to eye health.

  • EGGS

The egg yolk contains very high source of vitamin A. Zinc in eggs helps in boosting the amount of protective pigment in the macula, the part of the eye that controls the central vision. Vitamin A helps to protect the cornea. All preparations of eggs can be consumed which contributes to overall eye health

  • ALMONDS

Almonds like nuts and seeds are also good source of Vitamin E, healthy for eyes.

  • DAIRY

Dairy products are rich in vitamin A and minerals like zinc . This important mineral helps in maintaining the night vision as well as reduces the risk of cataract. Good sources are yoghurt, curd etc.

  • ORANGES

Oranges are rich in vitamin C which  is very good for eyes. The vitamin found mainly n fresh foods and vegetables contribute to healthy blood vessels  in our eyes. It combats the development of cataract and in combination with other vitamins and nutrients helps in preventing age related macular degeneration.

  • GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES

Green Leafy vegetables are healthy for eyes such as kale and spinach. They help in maintaining the eyesight & prevents age related eye diseases. They contain cartenoids such as luten and zeaxanthin which help in vision and the health of the retina.
