What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common medical condition in which a patient experiences problems in breathing along with excessive coughing. Asthma’s usual symptoms are wheezing, frequent and painful coughing, chest tightness and short breaths.

With physical activities and exercises, and as days go by, the intensity of asthma grows. Medical science has not been able to find the actual causes of asthma. However, as per the widespread belief practiced by doctors and physicians across the globe, pollution, allergies and genetic factors are some of the major causes of asthma.

Similarly, the medical science is yet to find the perfect and rock-solid cure for asthma. A patient, who has shown symptoms of asthma, has to live with the disease lifelong following the doctors’ advices and a long list of precautions to prevent asthma attacks.

Alternative Treatments for Asthma

Since medical science doesn’t have any concrete solution, patients can follow some widely acknowledged alternative treatments for to cure asthma. Alternative treatments are options that have not been studied and approved by the medical science, however, have been accepted by people for years and centuries.

Here are some of the most common alternative treatments asthmatics can go with –

Yoga:

Yoga is a widely accepted practice for a healthy and disease free lifestyle. It helps in the treatment of many difficult-to-cure diseases.

This breathing exercise strengthens your lungs and alleviates your breathing problems.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture was used as a treatment for asthma even before the birth of modern medical science. The practitioner inserts many sharp needles on various acupuncture points in the patient’s body. Doing so, according to their belief, helps in blood circulation, leading to the ultimate cure.It is not a medically approved method just because the medical science hasn’t found how this therapy works.

Natural Remedies:

Although the medical science has accepted the health benefits of natural remedies, they are yet to reach an evidence-based conclusion on this.

Whatever we eat or drink influences our health considerably. Foods, drinks, and supplements that rich in Vitamins A, C, D and E, caffeine, magnesium, antioxidants, probiotics, and omega 3 fat play a great role in the natural cure of  asthmatic health conditions.
