About Dr. Ved Prakash

Dr. Ved Prakash is a distinguished oncosurgeon serving as a Senior Consultant, Surgical Oncology, at Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna. With an extensive medical background and a career spanning over 18 years, Dr. Prakash has established himself as a leading expert in the field of oncosurgery, offering specialized care for various cancer disorders and oncological treatment like surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Dr. Prakash’s journey commenced with an MBBS from the prestigious BPKIHS Medical college in 2007, followed by advanced training in general surgery and surgical oncology at national institutions of repute. He holds MS General Surgery from centre of excellence PGI, Chandigarh. He completed his superspecialisation, Doctrate of National Board (DrNB) in surgical oncology from the National Board of Examination (NBEMS), New Delhi. This was followed by Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS), Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and Fellowship in Robotic Surgery. The rigorous training has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding and specialized expertise in cancer treatment and best supportive care. 

Dr. Prakash’s sprawling academic career also includes a stint at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, and then at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, where he worked as a consultant and unit head in the department of surgical oncologly. Dr. Prakash is known for GI Oncology (Hepatopancreaticobiliary cancers along with esophagus, stomach, colorectal cancer) and Thoracic Oncology. He does minimal invasive surgery like laparoscopic surgery, VATS and Robotic Surgery. He has keen interest in breast and gynaec onco (HIPEC). Dr. Prakash is a life member of various professional bodies like the ASI, AMASI, ISO, ASCO, ESGO, etc. He has several publications in Pubmed-indexed journals of international repute.
