Leading Heart Specialist of Bihar Dr. Nishant Tripathy joins Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna as HOD of Cardiology Department

Patna, 09 August 2018: Leading cardiologist and reputed heart specialist of Bihar – Dr Nishant Tripathy has joined Paras HMRI Hospital as the HOD Cardiology. Before joining Paras HMRI Hospital, Dr Tripathy was serving as Associate Professor at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna.

Dr. Nishant Tripathy has done Doctorate in Medicine (DM) from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and has also been a Fellow to the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions of United States of America.

He has also done his MBBS from Kolkata Medical College, Dr. Tripathy did MD, Medicine from GSBM Medical College, Kanpur. His specialty lies in cardiac interventions as he has so far done more than 2,000 cardiac interventions and his aim is to provide superlative interventional cardiology services to the people of Bihar.

Dr. Tripathy has many credits to his name. He is the first doctor to conduct OCT Guided Angioplasty and Rotabalation Angioplasty in Bihar. He has also done first SMM DES Implantation the first time in the eastern India front and Left Distal Radial Intervention.

Coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology are Dr. Tripathy’s areas of key expertise. He has so far successfully conducted several interventions  related to rheumatic heart disease, hypertension heart disease, ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and inflammatory heart disease.

Dr Tripathy in his message to the people of the state said that heat disease is spreading at an alarming rate in the country as one third of the deaths occurring every year in the country are due to some kind of heart disease.

He also shared that with changes in lifestyle and food habits and exercise one can prevent heart disease. By controlling diabetes and blood pressure heart disease can be prevented, Dr Tripathy stated further to control sugar and salt consumption. He advised people to shun from using tobacco, alcohol and cigarettes.
