Gurgaon, 06.05.2019: Aiming to train more doctors in minimally-invasive (laparoscopic) surgical processes to treat gynaecological conditions, Paras Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, Obstetrics, and Art, under Paras Hospitals in the city will organise a three-day workshop in May, June, and August, led by Dr. (Prof) Alka Kriplani, (Director & HOD, Paras Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, Obstetrics & ART).

The workshops, to be held every month during these three months at the hospital premises, will involve an informative mix of lectures, hands-on training, and live surgeries under the guidance of Dr. (Prof) Alka Kriplani, Director & HOD, Paras Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, Obstetrics & ART, Dr. Kusum Bhadwaj, Consultant, Dr. Seema Sharma, Consultant, the leading gynaecologists of Paras Hospitals. The training will be held from 6-8 May, 20-22 June, and 12-14 August this year.

“Laparoscopic surgery marks the future of gynaecological surgeries but not many are using it, more so in smaller cities. The workshop aims to bring more and more practising gynaecologists in the fold and allow them a real-time exposure. The training programme is phased in a manner so that the concepts explained through lectures are clarified during the hands-on sessions and live surgeries. We are expecting 10 participants in the first batch and similar number in subsequent batches, Number of candidate is fixed so that they have can one to one interact during workshop.” says Dr. (Prof) Alka Kriplani, Director & HOD, Paras Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, Obstetrics & ART, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon.

The workshop will showcase surgeries such as total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), fertility enhancing surgeries, laparoscopic myomectomy, managing endometriosis, pelvic sidewall dissection, salpingo oophorectomy (surgery to remove the ovaries and fallopian tubes), lap management of ectopic / pregnancy, ovarian drilling, lap tuboplasty, and laparoscopic repair of genital prolapse. Besides, the workshop will also address conducting hysteroscopy in cases of diagnostic hysteroscopy, adhesiolysis, metroplasty, tubal cannulation, myoma resection, and polyp removal.
