Gurgaon, 25th August 2018: A day dedicated to discussing difficult scenarios and risk reduction strategies in Laparoscopic Surgery. Paras Hospitals aimed to have interactive sessions on Gall Bladder, Ventral and Groin hernia, Foregut, Colorectal, Solid Organs and also Emergency and Trauma.

“40” Renowned surgeons faculty across the country were there to deliver  talks and around 100 young surgeons participated in the conference with the agenda of a video based CME ensuring safety in minimal access surgery.

Laparoscopy is a surgical diagnostic procedure use to examine the organs inside the abdomen. It’s a low-risk, procedure that requires only small incisions. It requires an instrument called a laparoscope to look at the abdominal organs. A laparoscope is a long, thin tube with a high-intensity light and a high-resolution camera at the front, says, “Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Senior Consultant & Unit Head, Department of Minimal Access Surgery, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon . The CME was aimed at discussing difficult scenarios, avoiding complications and treating them.

The instrument is inserted through an incision in the abdominal wall. As it moves along, the camera sends images to a video monitor. It also allows to see inside the body in real time, without open surgery.

IAGES, Indian Association of Gastronomical Endo Surgeons is moving ahead at a great speed in the direction of achieving its goal of providing laparoscopy surgery education and skill training to all surgeons in India, with carrying title of being in laparoscopy and GI Endoscopy.

We certainly need more professional doctors with better technologies in order to give a solid surgical education and to determine a structured and safe professional activity and to create more opportunities to introduce laparoscopic surgery in the surgical residency programs.
