Laughter may not be the best pain medicine, however, it is definitely a highly effective in palliative care. This can be asserted in several ways and with support of numerous vital points. There are also several studies that found laughter to be an effective pain medicine and helps patients develop a positive & optimistic outlook. On numerous occasions the patients feel so relaxed that the happiness hormones released make them forget their pain, even for a short while. Also it is something that can be resorted to in both stages i.e.  during prevention and cure..

Laughter makes us positive:  Laughter is the positive reflection of happiness and positive mood. It is a state of positive well being and pleasant life and deep satisfaction.  Laughter reduces pain, increases job performance, connects people emotionally and improve the flow of oxygen to the heart and brain and makes every cell of our body agile and energetic.

Laughter has medical benefits: It is said that laughter is the best medicine and does miracles for our good health. It reduces pain and allows us to tolerate discomfort and displeasure. Laughter helps our blood vessels function better. It acts on the inner lining of blood vessels called endothelium causing vessels to relax and expand increasing blood flow to different organs. Provoking laughter does as much good for their arteries as daily aerobic activities.

Laughter is good for your heart and brain heath: Laughter protects the heart and brain from heart attack, cardiovascular diseases, Ischaemic heart diseases and strokes by making the blood vessels supple and free of atherosclerosis. Laughter also boosts levels of nitric oxide that is helpful in dilation of endothelium and saves the vessels from vasoconstrictions. It reduces the level of stress hormones and triggers the release of endorphins that help us become more relaxed and pain free both physically and mentally.
