Dr. R. C. Jiloha is a highly respected psychiatrist with a professional journey spanning more than five decades. He completed his MBBS from Medical College, Rohtak (1974) and MD in Psychiatry from PGIMER, Chandigarh (1981). He joined the Central Health Service in 1983 and served as faculty at GB Pant Hospital and Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
He completed post-doctoral WHO fellowships in Addiction Psychiatry at UCLA, Los Angeles, and in Child Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (1998). He also received GCP training for drug trials in 2000.
He served at GB Pant and MAMC for 32 years and retired in 2015 as Director Professor & Head, Psychiatry. Post-retirement, he established the Psychiatry department at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and initiated a community mental health program. He joined Paras Hospital, Gurgaon in 2021.
Dr. Jiloha launched the MD Psychiatry program at MAMC (1983), started MPhil Clinical Psychology at IHBAS (2002), trained over 100 MD Psychiatry students, and guided PhD scholars. He also promoted DNB Psychiatry across India. He has published 250+ research papers and authored 8 books on topics including Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction, and Mental Health at the Workplace.
