Dr. Sekhar completed his MBBS from silchar medical college assam , and subsequently went to gather further training at Calcutta from Calcutta medical research institute and then subsequently selected for national board neurosurgery training from Chennai .He completed his training from Apollo hospital Chennai under the prestigious national board of examination the highest board for accreditation under ministry of health india new delhi.He subsequently served in AIIMS Kochi as assistant prof before moving to abroad to complete fellowship training in vascular and functional neurosurgery from fujita univ under guiness world record holder prof Hirotoshi sano and then further joined national neuroscience institute Singapore , then travelled down to united states and Germany to get further training on minimaly invasive neurosurgery , brain bypass and functional neurosurgery .He has been serving in the editorial board of surgical neurology international as well as other prestigious journal and European board of neurosurgical society as an elected individual member committes to represent india .He also served as consultant neurosurgeon in middleeast at baharain in royal medical service under Bahrain defence force .He is an international faculty at WFNS (world federation of neurosurgery)as well as EANS.
